He is highly celebrated and is a first-class devotee of the Personality of Godhead. He is a saint amongst royalty, and he has performed many horse sacrifices. When such a king is tired and fatigued, being stricken with hunger and thirst, he does not at all deserve to be cursed....

Purport: The pious King Yudhiṣṭhira was mortified because of the mass massacre of human beings in the Battle of Kurukṣetra, especially on his account....

Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 12 - Chapter 1 - Verse 47 Sanskrit: पतित: स्खलितश्चार्त: क्षुत्त्वा वा विवशो गृणन् ।हरये नम इत्युच्चैर्मुच्यते सर्वपातकात् ॥ ४७ ॥ ITRANS: patitaḥ skhalitaś cārtaḥkṣuttvā vā vivaśo gṛṇanharaye nama ity uccairmucyate sarva-pātakāt Translation: If when falling, slipping, feeling pain or sneezing one involuntarily cries out in a loud voice, “Obeisances to Lord Hari!” one will be automatically freed from all his sinful reactions. Purport: Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura explains that Lord Śrī Caitanya is always loudly chanting the song haraye namaḥ kṛṣṇa in the courtyard of Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura and that this same Lord Caitanya will free us from our materialistic enjoying propensity if we also loudly chant the glories of the Supreme Lord Hari....

Purport: Although one may practice the mystic yoga system, his actual spiritual advancement is due to the mercy of the Supreme Lord within the heart; it is not directly the result of his austerity and meditation....

He is the all-pervading and all-inclusive form of the universe, as well as its spiritual master. I bow down to Lord Nārāyaṇa, the supremely worshipable Deity appearing as a sage, and also to the saintly Nara, the best of human beings, who is fixed in perfect goodness, fully in control of his speech, and the propagator of the Vedic literatures....

Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 11 - Chapter 1 - Verse 47 Sanskrit: सीदन् विप्रो वणिग्वृत्त्या पण्यैरेवापदं तरेत् ।खड्‍गेन वापदाक्रान्तो न श्ववृत्त्या कथञ्चन ॥ ४७ ॥ ITRANS: sīdan vipro vaṇig-vṛttyāpaṇyair evāpadaṁ taretkhaḍgena vāpadākrāntona śva-vṛttyā kathañcana Translation: If a brāhmaṇa cannot support himself through his regular duties and is thus suffering, he may adopt the occupation of a merchant and overcome his destitute condition by buying and selling material things. If he continues to suffer extreme poverty even as a merchant, then he may adopt the occupation of a kṣatriya, taking sword in hand....

Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 11 - Chapter 1 - Verse 47 Sanskrit: वर्णाश्रमवतां धर्म एष आचारलक्षण: ।स एव मद्भ‍‍क्तियुतो नि:श्रेयसकर: पर: ॥ ४७ ॥ ITRANS: varṇāśramavatāṁ dharmaeṣa ācāra-lakṣaṇaḥsa eva mad-bhakti-yutoniḥśreyasa-karaḥ paraḥ Translation: Those who are followers of this varṇāśrama system accept religious principles according to authorized traditions of proper conduct. When such varṇāśrama duties are dedicated to Me in loving service, they award the supreme perfection of life. Purport: According to the varṇāśrama system, the members of different orders and statuses of life have many traditional duties, such as worshiping the forefathers to save them from possible sinful reactions....
