I accept this curse.” He could have cursed Prajāpati Dakṣa in return, but because he is a tolerant and merciful sādhu, he took no action....

Purport: For many years, material scientists have tried to go to the moon, but they are still unable to go there....

Both kinds of action are possible for them because they are contaminated by the three modes of nature and must act accordingly....

Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 7 - Chapter 1 - Verse 44 Sanskrit: आत्मानुभूतौ तां मायां जुहुयात्सत्यद‍ृङ्‍मुनि: ।ततो निरीहो विरमेत् स्वानुभूत्यात्मनि स्थित: ॥ ४४ ॥ ITRANS: ātmānubhūtau tāṁ māyāṁjuhuyāt satya-dṛṅ muniḥtato nirīho virametsvānubhūty-ātmani sthitaḥ Translation: A learned, thoughtful person must realize that material existence is illusion. This is possible only by self-realization. A self-realized person, who has actually seen the truth, should retire from all material activities, being situated in self-realization. Purport: By an analytical study of the entire constitution of the body, one can surely come to the conclusion that the soul is different from all the body’s material constituents, such as earth, water, fire and air....

Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 7 - Chapter 1 - Verse 44 Sanskrit: प्रायेण देव मुनय: स्वविमुक्तिकामामौनं चरन्ति विजने न परार्थनिष्ठा: ।नैतान्विहाय कृपणान्विमुमुक्ष एकोनान्यं त्वदस्य शरणं भ्रमतोऽनुपश्ये ॥ ४४ ॥ ITRANS: prāyeṇa deva munayaḥ sva-vimukti-kāmāmaunaṁ caranti vijane na parārtha-niṣṭhāḥnaitān vihāya kṛpaṇān vimumukṣa ekonānyaṁ tvad asya śaraṇaṁ bhramato ’nupaśye Translation: My dear Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva, I see that there are many saintly persons indeed, but they are interested only in their own deliverance. Not caring for the big cities and towns, they go to the Himālayas or the forest to meditate with vows of silence [mauna-vrata]....

He has killed Hiraṇyakaśipu, the demon who by force enjoyed all the offerings of the śrāddha ceremonies performed by our sons and grandsons on the anniversaries of our death and who drank the water with sesame seeds offered in holy places of pilgrimage....
