For that Personality of Godhead, the gopīs always felt maternal love, and Kṛṣṇa sucked their breasts with full satisfaction....

Consequently, the demigods known as the Maruts maintained the child, and when Mahārāja Bharata was disappointed for want of a child, this child was given to him as his son....

Purport: Although Urvaśī had adversely explained the nature of woman, Mahārāja Purūravā was very much attached to her, and therefore she wanted to give the King some concession by agreeing to be his wife for one night at the end of each year....

Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 9 - Chapter 1 - Verse 39 Sanskrit: सा वै सप्त समा गर्भमबिभ्रन्न व्यजायत ।जघ्नेऽश्मनोदरं तस्या: सोऽश्मकस्तेन कथ्यते ॥ ३९ ॥ ITRANS: sā vai sapta samā garbhamabibhran na vyajāyatajaghne ’śmanodaraṁ tasyāḥso ’śmakas tena kathyate Translation: Madayantī bore the child within the womb for seven years and did not give birth. Therefore Vasiṣṭha struck her abdomen with a stone, and then the child was born. Consequently, the child was known as Aśmaka [“the child born of a stone”]....

Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 8 - Chapter 1 - Verse 39 Sanskrit: सत्यं पुष्पफलं विद्यादात्मवृक्षस्य गीयते ।वृक्षेऽजीवति तन्न स्यादनृतं मूलमात्मन: ॥ ३९ ॥ ITRANS: satyaṁ puṣpa-phalaṁ vidyādātma-vṛkṣasya gīyatevṛkṣe ’jīvati tan na syādanṛtaṁ mūlam ātmanaḥ Translation: The Vedas enjoin that the factual result of the tree of the body is the good fruits and flowers derived from it. But if the bodily tree does not exist, there is no possibility of factual fruits and flowers....

Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 8 - Chapter 1 - Verse 39 Sanskrit: अर्चित्वा गन्धमाल्याद्यै: पयसा स्‍नपयेद् विभुम् ।वस्त्रोपवीताभरणपाद्योपस्पर्शनैस्तत: ।गन्धधूपादिभिश्चार्चेद्‌द्वादशाक्षरविद्यया ॥ ३९ ॥ ITRANS: arcitvā gandha-mālyādyaiḥpayasā snapayed vibhumvastropavītābharaṇa-pādyopasparśanais tataḥgandha-dhūpādibhiś cārceddvādaśākṣara-vidyayā Translation: In the beginning, the devotee should chant the dvādaśākṣara-mantra and offer flower garlands, incense and so on. After worshiping the Lord in this way, one should bathe the Lord with milk and dress Him with proper garments, a sacred thread, and ornaments. After offering water to wash the Lord’s feet, one should again worship the Lord with fragrant flowers, incense and other paraphernalia....
