Purport: Vatsara’s wife is mentioned here as iṣṭā, which means “worshipable.” In other words, it appears that Vatsara’s wife had all good qualities; for example, she was always very faithful and obedient and affectionate to her husband....

Purport: In this verse Dakṣa has been described as mahātmā. The word mahātmā has been commented upon by different commentators in various manners....

Lord Śiva, however, not only finds no faults with others’ qualities, but if someone has a little good quality, he magnifies it greatly....
