Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 9 - Chapter 1 - Verse 1


Sanskrit:

श्रीशुक उवाचवितथस्य सुतान् मन्योर्बृहत्क्षत्रो जयस्तत: ।महावीर्यो नरो गर्ग: सङ्‍कृतिस्तु नरात्मज: ॥ १ ॥

ITRANS:

śrī-śuka uvācavitathasya sutān manyorbṛhatkṣatro jayas tataḥmahāvīryo naro gargaḥsaṅkṛtis tu narātmajaḥ

Translation:

Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Because Bharadvāja was delivered by the Marut demigods, he was known as Vitatha. The son of Vitatha was Manyu, and from Manyu came five sons — Bṛhatkṣatra, Jaya, Mahāvīrya, Nara and Garga. Of these five, the one known as Nara had a son named Saṅkṛti.
