श्रीशौनक उवाचपैलादिभिर्व्यासशिष्यैर्वेदाचार्यैर्महात्मभि: ।वेदाश्च कथिता व्यस्ता एतत् सौम्याभिधेहि न: ॥ ३६ ॥
ITRANS:
śrī-śaunaka uvācapailādibhir vyāsa-śiṣyairvedācāryair mahātmabhiḥvedāś ca kathitā vyastāetat saumyābhidhehi naḥ
Translation:
Śaunaka Ṛṣi said: O gentle Sūta, please narrate to us how Paila and the other greatly intelligent disciples of Śrīla Vyāsadeva, who are known as the standard authorities of Vedic wisdom, spoke and edited the Vedas.
