Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 12 - Chapter 1 - Verse 8
Sanskrit:
प्रजा हि लुब्धै राजन्यैर्निर्घृणैर्दस्युधर्मभि: ।आच्छिन्नदारद्रविणा यास्यन्ति गिरिकाननम् ॥ ८ ॥
ITRANS:
prajā hi lubdhai rājanyairnirghṛṇair dasyu-dharmabhiḥācchinna-dāra-draviṇāyāsyanti giri-kānanam
Translation:
Losing their wives and properties to such avaricious and merciless rulers, who will behave no better than ordinary thieves, the citizens will flee to the mountains and forests.
