Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 10 - Chapter 1 - Verse 9


Sanskrit:

गोप्यश्चाकर्ण्य मुदिता यशोदाया: सुतोद्भ‍वम् ।आत्मानं भूषयांचक्रुर्वस्त्राकल्पाञ्जनादिभि: ॥ ९ ॥

ITRANS:

gopyaś cākarṇya muditāyaśodāyāḥ sutodbhavamātmānaṁ bhūṣayāṁ cakrurvastrākalpāñjanādibhiḥ

Translation:

The gopī wives of the cowherd men were very pleased to hear that mother Yaśodā had given birth to a son, and they began to decorate themselves very nicely with proper dresses, ornaments, black ointment for the eyes, and so on.
