Thus, in analyzing religious principles one must consider purity and impurity. Similarly, in one’s ordinary dealings one must distinguish between good and bad, and to insure one’s physical survival one must recognize that which is auspicious and inauspicious....

Similarly, the living entity who is asleep to his spiritual identity also sees many sense objects, but these innumerable objects of temporary gratification are creations of the Lord’s illusory potency and have no permanent existence....

Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 11 - Chapter 1 - Verse 3 Sanskrit: विद्याविद्ये मम तनू विद्ध्युद्धव शरीरिणाम् ।मोक्षबन्धकरी आद्ये मायया मे विनिर्मिते ॥ ३ ॥ ITRANS: vidyāvidye mama tanūviddhy uddhava śarīriṇāmmokṣa-bandha-karī ādyemāyayā me vinirmite Translation: O Uddhava, both knowledge and ignorance, being products of māyā, are expansions of My potency. Both knowledge and ignorance are beginningless and perpetually award liberation and bondage to embodied living beings. Purport: By the expansion of vidyā, or knowledge, a conditioned soul is liberated from the clutches of māyā, and similarly, by the expansion of avidyā, or ignorance, the conditioned soul is driven further into illusion and bondage....

Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 11 - Chapter 1 - Verse 3-6 Sanskrit: सत्सङ्गेन हि दैतेया यातुधाना मृगा: खगा: ।गन्धर्वाप्सरसो नागा: सिद्धाश्चारणगुह्यका: ॥ ३ ॥विद्याधरा मनुष्येषु वैश्या: शूद्रा: स्त्रियोऽन्त्यजा: ।रजस्तम:प्रकृतयस्तस्मिंस्तस्मिन् युगे युगे ॥ ४ ॥बहवो मत्पदं प्राप्तास्त्वाष्ट्रकायाधवादय: ।वृषपर्वा बलिर्बाणो मयश्चाथ विभीषण: ॥ ५ ॥सुग्रीवो हनुमानृक्षो गजो गृध्रो वणिक्पथ: ।व्याध: कुब्जा व्रजे गोप्यो यज्ञपत्न्‍यस्तथापरे ॥ ६ ॥ ITRANS: sat-saṅgena hi daiteyāyātudhānā mṛgāḥ khagāḥgandharvāpsaraso nāgāḥsiddhāś cāraṇa-guhyakāḥ Translation: In every yuga many living entities entangled in the modes of passion and ignorance gained the association of My devotees....

Srimad-Bhagavatam: Canto 11 - Chapter 1 - Verse 3 Sanskrit: धर्मो रजस्तमो हन्यात् सत्त्ववृद्धिरनुत्तम: ।आशु नश्यति तन्मूलो ह्यधर्म उभये हते ॥ ३ ॥ ITRANS: dharmo rajas tamo hanyātsattva-vṛddhir anuttamaḥāśu naśyati tan-mūlohy adharma ubhaye hate Translation: Religious principles, strengthened by the mode of goodness, destroy the influence of passion and ignorance. Therefore, when the subsequent creation took place, I spoke the Vedic knowledge to Brahmā because I Myself am the religious principles enunciated in the Vedas....
